The Journey
Our culinary foundation was built in West Auckland, New Zealand, learning the craft from a Kiwi chef. The philosophy was simple: slow is always better. Real ingredients. Nothing cut short.
Our first location opened in Wellington's Queensgate mall under the name Rutherford Roasts. The concept was immediate: authentic English-style carved roasts in a fast-casual format. Busy shoppers, real food. It worked from day one.
Over two decades, we expanded across New Zealand's flagship Westfield shopping centres as Yorkshire Roasts. High-volume. High standards. We refined our kitchen systems, training model, and supply chain across the country's busiest food courts.
The Well. King West. The right city, the right moment. We brought the concept to Canada and immediately saw the opportunity in corporate catering — a market with enormous appetite for genuinely distinctive food. This is only the beginning.

The Canadian market is ready for what The Carvery does. Premium fast-casual roasted meats — a category that barely exists here — with the systems, training, and track record to scale it properly.
We're actively expanding into major Canadian shopping centres from coast to coast, while simultaneously growing our corporate catering footprint across the Golden Horseshoe. Each new market brings the same menu, the same kitchen discipline, and the same standard that's been refined over 30 years.
